1) Best form of governance

1) How can a government serve its people effectively?

This question rose in my mind and a chain of thoughts started after reading articles in The Economist and The Wire (See References at end of post). I have tried to capture the thought process in a series of blog posts exploring the history and future possibilities.

Steps to serve the people effectively..
  • Incorporate everyone's views,
  • Encourage the privileged class to add value,
  • Uplift the underprivileged,
  • Provide Inclusive Growth
  • and... Stay in power long enough to do good.
  • Create an ever-flourishing society.

Freedom and Regulation seem to be contradictory concepts.

However, they are interdependent. “Freedom of Expression", "Civil Liberties" are good in an ideal society. But, Freedom is not Free. Regulations are required to maintain the freedom.

Laws, Rules, Directives, Controls, Reforms... these are "Costs" for achieving Good Governance. Which in turn is required for Prosperity and Wellbeing of all. No point in according freedom without accountability. Essential and impartial controls are not deterioration of freedom or democracy.

But who decides what is necessary? People or Government?

That and more in next post... Evolution-of-governance-models
