Logan Logs Out: Wolverines last chapter

I saw "Logan" movie yesterday. A brilliant saga that started in 2000 with Hugh Jackman as the unstoppable Wolverine.

X-Men series has always inspired me because it represents need of humanity to go beyond the self imposed boundaries, grow out of our pettiness to truly claim the position at the top of evolution chain.

But with great power comes great responsibility.

The powers of good seem to be continuously losing against the evil. That's where Wolverine, as the benevolent unstoppable force becomes the guiding star. You root for him even as the action becomes more and more violent. He is seemingly fighting a hopeless battle, for a lost cause. But the violence is almost cathartic.

Then comes the final chapter. Humanizing the hero and herofying the human. It is a poignant reflection on to everyone's struggle for recognition and a place in the new world order.

Is humanizing Wolverine a right thing to do? I think it was required.

Wolverine is an indestructible benevolent force. Always ready to pitch for the good and do the right thing. But, everything in the world is perishable and renewable at the same time.

The ending scene depicts this. The cross on Woverine's grave is repositioned by Laura as an "X" indicating rebirth of the most grounded X-Man... The Wolverine in a new avatar.

Heroes are not required to be immortal. A hero has to rise each time the world requires one.

There will be conflict. There will be misery. There will be chaos.
...But, the good and the righteous will prevail.
