Root of all problems is economic in nature...Maybe what US citizens felt they require a Businessman instead of a Politician to lead them.
Fear of being excluded and worry of eternally being deprived promotes group-ism which escalates to Xenophobia rapidly. In this today's increasingly confusing world people grasp for the last "Feel-Good" straw, hoping to stay afloat.
While moving towards a One-World paradigm is essential, the same will always stay Utopian. We require leaders who will walk their talk and not only do lip service to idealistic causes. Practical, Fair Solutions which will ensure interests of majority without being too divisive or discriminatory are required.
After all Freedom is not Free. Some amount of playing to the galleries is the price that has to be paid to allow the leaders to work on Real Benevolent Agendas. ... In a nutshell.. Don't loose hope ;-)
